2026-2029 Instructional Technology Plan Resources for Districts
The ITP survey is intended to serve as the framework for a district’s comprehensive technology plan—one that aligns closely with broader goals for improving teaching and learning using instructional technology. Districts are encouraged to build upon this framework in a more detailed local plan to share with their communities.ÌýDistricts are required toÌýpost either their NYSED approved Instructional Technology Plan or a more comprehensive technology plan to a public website where the survey or plan can be easily accessed by the community.
An approvedÌýDistrict Instructional Technology Plan is required for any district seeking to use Smart School Bond Act funds, and the Department will continue to rely on information provided in the District Instructional Technology Plan (ITP) surveys when reviewing Smart School Bond Act Investment Plans (SSIPs). If a district wishes to update its District ITP prior to the June 30, 2026, deadline, such as to ensure alignment with its SSIP, they are encouraged to do so and to submit those updates through the District Instructional Technology Plan Survey on SEDMON.Ìý Districts are asked to contact the Office of Educational Design and Technology atÌýEdTech@nysed.govÌýfor more information.
Through District Instructional Technology Plans, districts address how they are meeting the Educational Technology expectations of the Board of Regents, as articulated in theÌýUSNY Statewide Learning Technology Plan.ÌýÌý
